Shopping, Food, and Stars - Day 7
At the farmers market and wearing the same shirt

The kids began the day with instant noodles and choy! The other ultimate combo. Rita and Steve had Montreal style bagels for breakfast. And choy too.

Montreal bagels!

First we spent some time at a shopping neighbourhood called Mile End. There were a couple of interesting book shops and boutiques with local goods.

We didn't buy anything so instead we went to Jean Talon market which is a local farmer's market. We picked up some fresh tasty plums for fruit and looked around for some lunch. Amelia wanted fish and chips, while the others got some onigiri. Everything was yummy. We also got some fresh pasta to share since we couldn't resist.

Next stop was the planetarium that we had missed yesterday. We looked at an exhibit about preparing to go to Mars, before watching a show about constellations. The screen was a dome which was cool as it really simulated looking up at the night sky. However, the kids couldn't reach the headrest and had to position themselves awkwardly to see. The actual show was cool. We watched a second show back to back about black holes and how it relates to space time. It was confusing to everyone but Marcus and he loved the show. The concepts of black holes are very abstract which made it hard to understand.

After looking around the market, we headed to a store that had a bunch of K-pop goods to see if Amelia could find anything interesting there. We also stopped at a big mostly-French bookstore where Amelia considered getting a big banana stuffy but ultimately decided against it.

We headed back to the Airbnb to rest.

We had wanted to eat at a place called the Soupiere. This place is similar to the one we had in Vancouver. If you followed us with that series, you would have known what we're talking about (Vancouver, day 2).

We chose our ingredients and weighed it. We got bone broths, tomato broth, and a Chinese broth. It was so satisfying.

We were extremely full after because we misjudged the amount again, so we took a walk around the block.

Since we loved Meet Fresh so much, we got a take-out of the same things to eat later.

That concluded our chill day. Time to sleep our last sleep here in Montreal.
