Creepy Crawly Critters - Day 6
Today we paid a visit to the Botanical Garden or Jardin Bontanique.
On the way, we stopped at the famous Schwartz's Deli to grab some lunch for later. We ate it between the gardens and it was so tasty. We see why it's a famous place.

We got there right when it opened so we were the first in line. It is a famous place so there can be long lines.
There is a huge pile of smoked meat in the window that is crazy to believe that they go through that much meat in a day.

It was hot and sunny so we made sure to lather on sunscreen and bring aloe vera for people with sunburns.
The garden itself is split into 4 sections: China, Japan, First Nations, and Alpine Gardens.

All of the gardens had cool plants and flowers and I think we especially liked the Alpine garden and the bonsai trees the best.

After the garden, we finished by looking at the Insectarium.
They had caterpillars, butterflies, ants, and beetles.

Then we went into the butterfly garden.

In the greenhouse, there is a colony of leaf-cutter ants that go back and forth along the log that they set for them. This is the first time any of us have seen leaf-cutter ants up close. Usually they're behind glass or something. They set up fresh leaves and flowers for the ants so they don't wreck the trees that are meant to be in the greenhouse. Everyone agreed that this was the coolest thing by far today.
Here are the ants in action

We quickly stopped to get Fuze ice tea from a vending machine for refreshments. Obviously it was high in sugar.
Then we went across the street to the Bio Dome where it is like a zoo indoors. They have to 4 zones: rainforest, maple forest, St. Lawrence River, and Polar Ice Region.
We planned our route from the start. We would start at the hottest zone and move to the coldest zone.
First was the rainforest.

Then it was the Forest.

Then the St. Lawrence River.

Lastly, the Polar Ice Region. Upon entering, there are walls built with real ice which was cool.

After the dome, we went back into the hot car to rest at the Airbnb before heading out to dinner.
We went to eat Korean food today, which was very satisfying.
The place is called Kim Galbi, a few blocks away from our Airbnb.
We never ended up having Galbi, but instead foods like hot-stone bibimbap, bulgogi, and stew.

We purposely saved some room for the matcha place we were meaning to go to earlier, called Matcha Zanmai.

We got parfaits and one matcha mochi. It was pretty busy but we managed to find a spot.
That concluded our day. Tomorrow will be the last full day here in Montreal.
