Our last full day- Day 11

Our last full day- Day 11

Everyone is sad to leave Japan, but we are excited to see Tofu!

TOFU, WE MISS YOU

Amelia was a bit better today, and should be on a road to recovery. Rita woke up with a huge headache and couldn't move, so Steve and Amelia went to the drugstore in Ueno Station to buy some Japanese medicine for it, and some breakfast at Lawson's. We got two instant ramen, and four rice balls/onigiri.

The medication helped, thankfully, and Amelia and Rita went to the Senso-ji, a famous temple, with its iconic huge, red lantern. It had a lot of shopping there, and they bought a mug, hair clip, earrings, and a pouch. They also got Dango, Matcha jello mochi, and sugar strawberries on a stick.

Sumo mug!

The actual temple
Look at these fruit on the tree! It's hard to tell, but they are the size of an apple! I guess they're easy to grow in this climate.

Meanwhile, Marcus and Steve went on a Shinkansen, a bullet train, to Odawara, a quiet city on the way to the Mount Fuji area. Marcus debated about it the night before, and chose to do it, since it is their last chance.

On the train!
The top speed my GPS app recorded on the way!
We did get to see Mount Fuji on the way too!
Negitoro don and chicken karaage for lunch
We visited Odawara Castle while we were there.
Nice views from the top of the castle

Amelia and Rita went back to Ueno station to drop off their purchases at our hotel. They ended up staying there for a couple of hours resting. They basically missed lunch, and so after those hours, they went out, back to Ueno to eat at a conveyor belt sushi restaurant. It was so yummy!

At the restaurant, they count your charge with the different pattern on each of your plates. Different patterns are the different prices of the stuff on it.

And if you order stuff, they make it and hand it out to you on this paddle thing!

Salmon with mushroom butter. Never seen that before.
Big, fancy roll

After, they went to Sugi Bee Garden, a Japanese honey store, and got three bags of honey lozenges for throat. We bought a bag of the same thing in Nikko and it was pretty good.

We (Amelia and Rita) visited a small chrysanthemum shrine.

As big as my head!

Amelia bought one last pair of earrings, and then they headed back.

Helping this guy carry stuff

We all met up at the hotel, and we rested a bit, before dinner.

Marcus now was starting to feel sick like the rest of us, but still ok so far.

Dinner, we had the same thing as day 6: an efficient automatic ramen place. It was pretty good so we went again.

We even got to sit all together!

We finished up the day by buying dessert at Family Mart.

Chocolate some cake
Making memories with Mimaru (our hotel name) Panda! He is a huge stuffy.

Coming home tomorrow!
