A sick day- Day 10

A sick day- Day 10
Tokyo Skytree from the ground

Amelia was sick today, and wasn't feeling that good. Rita also was coughing a bit, but otherwise fine.

However, were had a booking for Tokyo Skytree, so we all went anyways.

Tokyo Skytree is the tallest broadcasting tower in the world. In total it is 634 m. It took us around 50 seconds to get up 350 m. The elevator goes 10 m/second. It doesn't seem that fast, but going vertically up 90° is challenging.

(did not take this picture)

You have to make sure you keep popping your ears, or then they would be uncomfortable.

There are two levels, and the 350 m is the first level. There, all the buildings were so tiny, and you could barely see people.

The part with a lot of trees, is Sarue Park
Keep in mind that these are 10-30 story buildings, and are only this tall.

After we finished on this level, we took the elevator another 100 m or so to the next viewing area. It was even higher!

There, the highest point (for visitors) was the Sorakara point, at 451.2 m.

The gift shop sold itty bitty erasers you can stuff into a Skytree-shaped bottle. Amelia was very happy! They were Japanese themed.

We felt like pizza for lunch and found a place nearby with really good thin crust pizzas. Very fresh! We recommend. It's called Parazzo San Gusto.

Tomato sauce, mozzarella, mushrooms, prosciutto meat, and fresh basil.
Mozzarella based with some homemade meat.

Since we didn't really look at some of the signs about the Tokyo Skytree tower, because we were in a hurry, we quickly finished looking at them.

While getting there, we saw little crane by a little river-ish thing! He was just minding his own business.

After, Amelia and Rita wanted to rest, so Steve and Marcus walked around and got a snack.

A shrine we saw along the way
Crepe!

Dinner time rolled around and we decided to try shabu-shabu (Japanese hotpot). There's a place near the station that does all you can eat which kept things simple, but the best part of it was: UNLIMITED VEGGIES!

There was so much choi sum (菜心)! And we hadn't had it in two whole weeks! It was sooooo good!🤤

For the soup base we got sukiyaki (a sweet and savory Japanese broth) and chicken bone broth. It was so good! The flavour really comes out onto the things you cook!

Also let's not forget about the meat. We paid for the premium meat. We ordered all kinds to start, but the best were pork rib, and beef. They were so tender, and the perfect amount of fat. We just kept ordering those over and over.

There is a little 'buffet' station for tofu, mushrooms, veggies, etc. The meat you have to order on the app. It comes on a little cat robot!

Amelia isn't smiling the most, since she wasn't the best. But after eating
Amelia isn't smiling the most, since she was not the best. (But after eating, she was a bit better 🙂)

Everyone gives it a 11/10! It is a MUST TRY for anyone going to Japan. The place is called ★Shabu Sai★ by Ueno station.

After dinner, Amelia and Rita went back early to rest more, while Marcus and Steve went to get the same dessert as yesterday. It was just as good. Also the grass jelly there is sooooo yummy. It's called Hei Gong Hao by Ueno.

We went to bed, and had a good night's sleep.
